The Wildlife Center of Southwest Florida would like to thank you for your interest in our wildlife release site program. Our Wildlife Center is the largest wildlife rehabilitation facility in the area. We cover four counties including Sarasota, Manatee, Lee, and Charlotte Counties. In 2018, we admitted almost 5,000 patients with the continuing goal of rehabilitating them back to health and preparing them for release back into the wild. 2020 saw an even bigger escalation and with the continued growth of the communities around us and the increasing strength of hurricane season, we can attest there is no slowing down any time soon.

Each species of wildlife has unique habitat requirements that must be met to survive. Without these suitable release sites, we would not be able to release these animals back into an environment suitable to them.

Thanks to the generosity of caring individuals in our community, we have access to various release sites. Many of these animals simply need a place to get started before dispersing, which is usually in an area with suitable tree and ground cover and resources where they can readjust to their return to the wild. Others need an area to call home where they establish a territory and become an active and functioning member of the local population. Either way, your property may be very helpful to fulfill this need.

The attached application requests information about your property. This information is confidential and will only be used to help us in the assessment of potential release sites.
